john shantz from Canada writes: This article sounds like a 'puff piece' for the new owners........... doesn't a sportswriter owe his readers at least a hing of skepticism?

Whatever you say, chumply...This new ownership group didn't have anything to do with drafting Vinny or winning a Stanley Cup...
If you don't want to watch the Leafs, than don't, you whiny bi@tch. No one cares if you do or don't.
But nice try anyway, idiot.- Posted 02/10/08 at 11:10 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

David Gehring from Kingston, Ontario, Canada writes: So Koules amassed his fortune making bad sitcoms like Two and a Half Men... well with Lecavalier, St. Louis and Stamkos, the entire Tampa Bay organization amounts to about three and a half men, but this hockey team gives us a lot more laughs than the sitcom.

Chris M from Winnipeg, Canada writes: Those TB Lightning financial numbers better pick up in a hurry if they want to ever hope of paying off that $106 Million debt to buy the club and land. Otherwise, Davidson will get his team back, whether he wants them or not.
Also, reporters always report the number of seats sold, but never the total gate revenue taken in each game or their ticket sales place out of 30 teams. TB's attendance is fairly accurate (ie. not alot of "distributed freebie tickets" counted in their totals). But check out their website to see how much ticket cost. They are quite cheap compared to Canadian NHL teams.
If you want to see how the Lightning are doing financially check out ManitobaMythbusters.com to get a true perspective.
Saying they are the best of the Southern US clubs isn't saying much when you consider Phoenix, Nashville, Atlanta and Miami are near death's door.
The economic storm clouds have gathered after years of boom times. How many of these happy-go-lucky southern NHL stories will we be hearing in a year or two?
