Michiel Horn from Canada writes: You've got to feel sorry for Jays pitchers. When I last checked they collectively had the best ERA in the AL, yet the team is struggling to win. Good pitching beats good hitting, but you have to have some hitting. All season long, the Jays have not had enough of it. Every once in a while they get 14 runs, and then they return to their all too familiar funk. Three runs in three games: great going, guys! You can make any journeyman pitcher look like Cy Young.

G L from Thunder Bay, Canada writes: 3 Games 3 riuns. That say's it all.The expression on AJ's face in the dugout after the game ended was one of utter frustration. What does a guy have to do to win a game with this team?Far too many under achievers and players unable to get key hits with men on base.Mr Rios is a good example.A 290 Average with lots of doubles with no one on base but when it counts, with men on base he just hasn't go the job done. He's not alone there are others.Well maybe tormorrow. Maybe!

P Martin from St. John's, Canada writes: Nearly half of their losses have been by 1 run - 28 according to their website. That is the worst in baseball. Their batting average is actually pretty decent, but get someone in scoring position and problems start. If they do not have the worst RISP in the league then I would be surprised.

Graham Magus from Toronto, Canada writes: Pavano's pitches were up and his location and velocity weren't great..............the Jays just stunk out the joint with poor hitting mechanics and impatience. That 11th inning loss on Sunday seems to have broken their back for the season..........see y'all in spring training 'cause the rest of this year is useless.

Lor Resar from Canada writes: Here we go again: NOTE TO CITO - If you would sacrifice in the first (good idea) why the hell would you let "Double Play Overbay" swing away later in the game? - and why, with two on and no one out, would you not sacrifice late in the game trailing by one run?
Say fans, don't just look at the box score for how the game turns out - watch the game and then look at the inning by inning decisions that were or were not made. These decisions are what decide close games - and with the jay's offence you must assume that every game is going to be a close game.
Please oh please don't bring back Cito.- Posted 30/08/08 at 11:30 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Cito let Overbay do his thing. Good move. Jays are DONE this season and we are now having try-outs for next year.- Posted 30/08/08 at 11:44 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
