Great start Mikey! Set it up for Sunday! Good for you!

No matter what happens, you have already made Canada proud, have been a great Ambassador for Canada, and carried the flag on foreign soil with nothing less than superb class, visible pide, and honour!

    BRAVO!

And last year when he beat Tiger Woods-nose to nose-at the President's Cup, it will always be a great memory-I kind of remember that guy is somewhat competitive.....ask Steven Ames....when Tiger beat him in match play 9 and 8 ( no typo) at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championships, in California in 2006.

HI Ryan M. : Do a Google search- 2003 Masters (Major Tournament)

Let me know what you find.......( Just Maybe some Canada PRIDE..)

    ..or February 2004 Nissan Open
    ..or February 2003 Nissan Open
..or February 2003 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic
..or November 2001 The Tour Championship (BIG)
..or November 2000 WGC-American Express Championship (BIG)

Yea, maybe he has had a tough go lately, but he spent over 100 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Rankings between 2001 and 2005.

Today? Number 35 in THE WORLD!

Not bad for a little, VERY classy Canuck!

I've followed Weir pretty closely since he won the Air Canada Championship in Vancouver about ten years ago. He's not a great closer. But he puts himself in close enough times so that he can count on just about a win a year.

Here's hoping he does it in Canada this time.
  12. Scot Loucks from Pickering, Canada writes: If anybody was watching the Open last weekend you would know that Mike Weir is on his game.

That first round in those conditions was phenomenal. He hooked one bad 3 wood and did the triple Bogey thing... taking him out of contention.

Good stuff Mikey... keep it up.

    Cheers
  13. Ryan M from Ottawa, Canada writes: Hi R Carriere:

That 2003 win definitely was fantastic for this country.

I'd love to see Weire win this, but as 'y meier' points out, he's not the greatest of closers.

He had a great first round at the Open as well, but trailed off afterwards. We'll see what happens, though.

Anyways, hope he can pull it off!
  14. Lou Bix from Canada writes: The TV coverage is weak.
Every hour should be on TV.
Not like on the golf channel with 3 to 6 PM coverage thursday and friday.
    Go Mike !!!
