Sorry for being so late.
Kind of busy around here what with Cito Gaston coming as close to saying this season for the Blue Jays is done like dinner.
Not that that's any great surprise. The Jays have played horribly all season and there is no reason to expect things will turn around overnight now that Gaston's in charge.
He said as much while speaking with reporters prior to the game, the reason why he said he hopes to be the manager next year where he is convinced he can turn the Blue Jays into a contending outfit.
When he was hired as John Gibbon's replacement on June 20th, Gaston was given a contract only for the rest of the current season.
Nothing has changed in that regard and the situation will bear watching closely as the season runs its course – especially if the Jays continue to wallow in last place.
