Canadian Press

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Senators signed goaltender Alex Auld to a $2-million (U.S.), two-year contract on Tuesday.

Auld, a 27-year-old native of Thunder Bay, Ont., saw limited action last season with the Phoenix Coyotes and Boston Bruins, posting a 12-13-5 mark.

In 140 career NHL regular-season games with Phoenix, Boston, Florida and Vancouver, Auld is 58-57-18 with five shutouts, a 2.85 goals-against average and .903 save percentage.

Auld will get $1-million per season with the Senators.
