TORONTO The Colorado Avalanche have re-signed defencemen John-Michael Liles and Adam Foote, TSN reported on its website Sunday.
Citing an unnamed source, TSN reported that Liles and the Avalanche have agreed to terms on a four-year contract worth an average of slightly more than $4-million per year.
Liles was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday. The deal is likely to be formally announced Monday.
It's also expected the Avalanche will announce then that they have also re-signed Foote.
The source said Foote's deal is believed to be for two years and a total of $6 million, or $3 million per year.
Liles, a Zionsville, Ind., native scored six goals and 26 assists in 81 games last season. In 313 career games, the 28-year old Liles has 44 goals and 115 assists.
Meanwhile the 36-year old Foote returned to the Avalanche at the trade deadline last season from the Columbus Blue Jackets.
A two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Avalanche, Foote scored one goal and picked up 15 assists last season.
In 998 career games, the Toronto-born defenceman has 65 goals and 219 assists.
