Fred Draper from Kingston, Canada writes: Why doesn't JP be a man about things and apologize in person? He knows Dunn's name, number and residence for the next three days.
I know JP would prefer we left this t__d on the side of the road and moved on. Sorry.
But if he's afeared for his safety in apologizing in person, he shouldn't be.
As one wag put, if Dunn took a swing at JP with a bat in his hands, based on his BA, he'd likely miss.
If Dunn chased him around the field, JP would likely get away. Dunn doens't catch much running.- Posted 25/06/08 at 10:28 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Ryan Hickman from Canada writes: J.P. is an idiot and I find it hard to believe that someone got his cell # and placed a crank call claiming to be Adam Dunn. That has to be the stupidest story I have ever heard!
To a previous person's post. J.P. just has to go down to the ball park and speak to Dunn in person and this would be a done deal. If you're man enough to talk smack about a guy without him around, at least be man enough to stand in front of him and apologize!- Posted 25/06/08 at 1:04 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Sean O'Reilly from Kitchener, Canada writes: I am fairly certain that by no later than the end of the season we will see more organizational changes.
This incident and the following acts I think has cemented his demise.
But really, enough, the media has addressed the Dunn issue, its really more attention than the guy deserves for his numbers.
Besides, I don't think this is about Dunn anymore, its more about how the jays will eventually be transitioning to a new direction.
But I expect the media to beat a dead horse.- Posted 25/06/08 at 1:39 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Howard Young from Canada writes: I watched an interview with Dunn yesterday, he says he sick of talking about it and just wants it be over with. He doesn't care about an apology, he just wants to focus on baseball. It's the media whose trying to keep this alive.

mike cardin from Ottawa, Canada writes: Hey guys! Lay off JP. The guys the closest thing to a genius that the Jays have ever had upstairs. No one, no one, hasn't made his/her fair share of mistakes. Dunn, well he's definitely had more than his share. JP's trying to be diplomatic, Dunn's being a hardhead. If JP is dumped at the end of the season, fans will be sorry. He will eventually lead a team to a World Series championship, given a real payroll. Seriously. It's less than professional types like Hillenbrand, Burnett, Glaus, etc., that've hurt him the most. His only mistake was Reed Johnson. That's what's really killed the Jays batting stats - believe it or not. Now, look at the pitching - tell me JP hasn't worked a miracle in that department. Even if he's ditched, the Jays have a good enough stock of arms to contend for years to come - provided Teddie puts up the funds to buy bats to match. Let's face it, it has been a rocky but continuously improving strech under JP. Give him more time. You won't regret it. The guy's tough, real, honest when he has to be, and first class. And, about that honesty reference, we're all hypocrites there, and a manager's job -sometimes - is to lie. We alll know that, so let's all get off our high horses on that issue.

Jude Hannaford from Canada writes: Mike Cardin
Your post must be tongue in cheek. JP is a liar (BJ Ryan) and I would venture to say the pitching is decent despite him not because of him. To lie to the fans during spring training so that the season tickets sales do not go down is classless and he needs to go. Would you call Burnett a success? How about Frank Thomas? The only genius I remember was named Pat Gillick.- Posted 25/06/08 at 7:48 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Scot Loucks from Pickering, Canada writes: Mike Cardin; You are either a troll or JP's agent.
Funniest thing was JP's interview on Sportsnet last night. When asked about Dunn his only appology was that he was brought up to tell the truth???
He then proceeded to say that his honesty gets him in trouble some times.
Give me a break.
