Ryan Hickman from Canada writes: McGowan needs to learn to pitch on the road. Every outing outside of the Rogers Centre seems to be a struggle.
Off to Philly for interleague. Hopefully they can do some damage down there before heading home.- Posted 16/05/08 at 7:21 AM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Allan Wexler from Canada writes: The Blue Jays brass has been pushing Adam Lind for 2 years now, but the more I see Inglett, the more I think he may be the better major league hitter.

Kenneth Yurchuk from Canada writes: The Jays are lucky that everyone in the division seems to be just as inconsistant as they are. As a result they're only 4 games out, and Tampa Bay(!) is leading. NY and Boston can't seem to get it together. Jays desperately need some offense, but with Thomas gone and Wells hurt they are going to have to learn to do it with "little ball"

P Martin from St. John's, Canada writes: They are partly where they are because the rest of the division are almost as bad. And their pitching has been great. It is unfortunate that they are still not hitting. But that does not matter if they win. If they win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1, etc., does not matter, it is still a win. I do not have much hope for them unless they can get their hitting going, or I should say, they get RISP about 100 points higher...

K N from Canada writes: I fear McGowan is turning into AJ Burnett "lite" (great arm, .500 pitcher) -- he might be the guy the Jays should move to get another bat. Looks like Marcum is the Jays only Alll-star this year.

Ryan Hickman from Canada writes: Agree with the divisional struggles. I read an interesting article on cnnsi about what has happened to the once "powerful" american league lineups. You might want to give it a read if you have the time.
As you recall, the Yankees were awful in the first month and half of the season and bounced back to make the playoffs. If the Jays are to do the same in a division that has no real run aways yet they will need to get the offense going. They don't need to be hitting for power but they certainly need to do a better job of hitting with runners on.
This weekend will be interesting with the pitchers getting some at-bats. I am looking forward to seeing Marcum hit as he was once a talented shortstop.- Posted 16/05/08 at 9:27 AM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Cole H. from Toronto, Canada writes: Good to see the Jays sweep the Twins away. I'm confident Dustin will find his command again.
Philly is always a tough opponent. They're built like an A.L. team with those bats.
It's always funny to read how the Jays are just "lucky" when they succeed.- Posted 16/05/08 at 12:13 PM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

They're not the worst in the AL any more, that title goes to the Yankees and if they win tonight, they're at .500. If they manage to win 2 of three this weekend, they will actually be above .500.
Now let's see if they can't make that happen.
Go Jays?- Posted 16/05/08 at 2:10 PM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

I wish I could watch! This is a real dry spell with respect to TV coverage. Rogers must have a side deal with MLB.com trying to get us to pay $15/month so we can watch the games online. Not going to work here! Just going to have to follow on radio.- Posted 16/05/08 at 2:55 PM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
