  2. Neil No more last name from Mississauga, Canada writes: ??????? Huh ?????????????

What's going on in Van city??
  3. Noble Savage from Canada writes: Great pick up, good hockey sense, incredible leadership skills, and extremely trust worthy. What ever team Mellanby joined had a good work ethic and was heading in the right direction, also cut from good cloth, salt of the Earth this fella.

Time will tell this is the best move in the NHL this summer. And no I'm not a Mellanby.

Ps. Boycott the Olympics!!!...Well at least the opening anyway!
  4. JIm Smith from Canada writes: You should add proven winner, and a long history of success in a hockey operations roll to the list.

    Wait a sec..............................

How many leaps of faith will this organization make in one year?

Vancouver fan can look forward to the second highest ticket prices in the league all the while having the team management learn on the fly. Great.
  5. Johnny Choy from Vancouver, Canada writes: ??????

That came outta left field for me!
  6. Rick C from Canada writes: Well, There you go. New owner, new GM, new front office, new back office,..... can a new coach and a parade of new players be far behind?

I guess its going to be another rebuilding decade here in Vancouver.

The problem is the ticket prices. For the cost of an NHL game here in Vancouver you want to at least have a good chance of seeing a home team victory. Constant rebuilding dosent offer that.

On the other hand, The Vancouver Giants, a junior team, who by nature are always rebuilding while playing against other junior teams that are constantly rebuilding, are asking a little over $20.00 to watch a game. Now theres some bang for your entertainment dollar!!

    Go G-Men!
  7. Ed Long from white Rock, Canada writes: Vigneault should resign and run.
  8. Noble Savage from Canada writes: JIm Smith from Canada, Not every good hockey player can win the cup (Linden, JR all of the SENS etc.) and as a team you want to surround your self with good intelligent hockey people for direction and to give yourself the best chance of attracting & acquiring top talent.

I really don't care for Vancouver, but I'll admit this signing is a good move, wish my team hired him.
  9. Mariposa Belle from Leacockland, Canada writes: Scott should use his influence with Ralph and have the 'Nucks play Saturday afternnons at 4 so HNIC will broadcast them coast-to-coast in the prime slot.

dan vanman's wet dream and everyone else's worst nightmare.
  10. dan vanman from Canada writes: So Mariposa, that means I have to watch them early? I'd have to start with the wobbly pops about 3:30...could we make it 5:30 my time? That would work better, thanks. BTW...I am surprised you have such insight into my sexual proclivities! LMAO! On the thread relativity front. I think this is a good hire. Mellanby has been a standup guy forever, and if he instills a hard work ethis with his presence, thats always a good thing.
  11. Michael Sharp from Victorious, Canada writes:

    Scott Mellanby is a gem.

I only wished we could have had him here in is heyday.

    A very smart move.
  12. Hap Stokes from Canada writes: Who cares anymore?
Had a few friends play in the old Pro WHL.
What a team the Nukes were back then.
Had by far the best team outside the NHL.
Even had a farm team in the AHL at Rochester

Then Toronto was pressured to let the Canucks join the NHL.
Oh the Leafs then (Vanc) were like the Leafs now (Hamilton)
Finally the Maple Leaf resistance collapsed and Vanc was in the NHL.

Came in with basically the same winning team from the WHL
Well a rookie here and a famous bum there, but still a great team.
Surprised all the quasi EXPERTS by being in 4th place at Xmas.

Then the management started fighting amongst themselves.
Crime, police even the owner being sent to prison.
This hockey team has gone from very good to a g/d horrid joke.
And it still continues to this very day.

Incredibly poor drafting (not Linden Smyle) the stupidest trades in NHL history. Except for Pat Quinn and my old buddy who now sells Kenworths (in Burnaby)and some of the worst coaches ever.

The only thing that could get worse is if Shoalts became a columnist for The Vanc Sun and wrote four articles a day about the Canucks.

Fired Burke, hired Noonis and just as there appeared to be a tiny glimmer for the future the Suits canned Noonis too.

No wonder the easterners call this place La La Land.
Now I think they are going to ax Vigneault too.
Lucky Vinny, you are too good a coach for these bums.
  13. DOWN TRODDEN from Vancouver, Canada writes: there goes the franchise, maybe basille can buy the nucks after its run down by the owners.
