  1. Tom Sawyer from Canada writes: Nice work boys....time to beat the Swedes which should be easy since Detroit has all the best players! ha
  2. Proud Canadian from Canada writes: Go Canada Go. Beat those Sweeds. Go Canada Go.
  3. R Miller from Halifax, Canada writes: Ok, listen up, kids.... Long winded rant follows.... Pay particular attention, Micheal Sharp (as there is a lesson here on how "losers" can turn into "winners")... Team Canada is playing great, but Team Norway deserves a hell of a lot of credit for staying in this game until the second period... I previously mentioned eating breakfast at the Halifax Marriott with Team Norway last weekend... These guys are a bunch of fresh faced kids who are certainly not big compared to Team Canada's players. They are carpenters and construction workers who play hockey as a second job. Yet, they took Canada's hardest hits and bounced right back up and continued on. They also didn't take any guff from these star NHLers despite being significantly outsized. They were able to keep the fans in Halifax nervous for, at least, 90 minutes of their 120 minutes against Canada. It must be their "Viking blood." Anyways, I was very impressed by Team Norway in the round robin game and the first two periods of this game. As they were leaving the ice, one of their players put a mint condition Easton Synaergy Composite Stick in my son's hands. Hmmmm..... left handed shot and just my size too. Truly a classy and gutsy effort -- A toast to Team Norway! Thanks to the IIHF for choosing Halifax as a site for this tournament. We now deliver an undefeated Team Canada to Quebec City for the semi-finals... Go Canada Go -- Allez Canada Allez. Cheers.
  4. Jeff Gulley from Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, Canada writes: I completely agree with you Robert (that IS your name right?!)

Team Norway deserves huge credit for their great showing at this tournament. I mentioned this after last year's championship, but I think in a few years you'll see these fringe teams become contenders for medals. Germany took a step back in this tournament, but both Norway and Switzerland impressed. On Team Norway, I'm a particular fan of Morten Ask and his style of play. You always see him out there.

Classy move by the player who gave your son the stick.

Three cheers for Norway, and now Canada moves on to face the very lucky Team Sweden (Czechs deserved that game last night).
  5. Michael Sharp from Victorious, Canada writes:

    Lovely, Mr. Miller.

    I wish I was there.

You're a lucky man to watch these live.

I hope you're there when we win gold!
  6. g h from Canada writes: Great post, R. Miller. Your son will remember that moment for the rest of his life, and therefore so will you. And keep your mitts off it, by the way. I clearly remember...many, many years ago, when Marcel Pronovost reached up and gave my brother (sitting beside me) a puck as the team passed through the tunnel at the end of a period. I tell you it was a magic moment for a Canadian kid.
  7. Random Person from Heard and Mc Donald Islands writes: Czech should have won the game vs. Sweden and I think they would have been able to oust Canada out of the tournament...

Too bad, let's hope the Russian will take it tomorrow...
