Sean O'Reilly from Canada writes: Typical of the NHL, someone has to get injured. Otherwise, acts like this are tolerated.

George Janes from Calgary, Canada writes: Come on, Osgood starts the whole thing with a little butt end as Ribiero goes by, totally uncalled for and then rolls around like an idiot on the ice after he takes a hit on the chest protector, a protective piece of equipment that takes 90 per hour shots without the same effect. You're right on saying "typical NHL", as the announcers put it "better to initiate rather than retaliate". So every one is aware of the incompetency of the NHL officiating or the NHL's guide to officiating. They cannot see anything but the second call. IMHO the only fine should be to Osgood and the victim should be let off for self defense. Gutless decision as usual.

John Stanton from Canada writes: The media tried to make something of this when there wasnt. Osgood started it. The ironic part is if this had happened at the beginning of the game, it would have been to Dallas' advantage in order to get some blood boiling. They are trying to play a run and gun game and cant with Detroit. They can only pray to get back in this buy making it ugly and dirty. You know that will be happening when the whining starts here! ha

bob smith from Canada writes: Osgood is a punk. That butt-end was dangerous and obviously intentional. The slash by Ribiero was stupid but hardly dangerous. I couldn't believe Osgood would embarass his own training staff by making them run on to the ice and pretend to look over his 'injury'. Disgusting display.

No wonder "Hockeytowners" are staying away...a steady diet of Thomas Holmstrom crowding the net (which he has perfected) ...need more be said?
