Proud Canadian from Canada writes: Detroit has a good hockey team. Do not ever doubt it. But the city itself, who wants to hang out in Detroit? What is left of Detroit? I drive through that city every night, there is not much left. If you are from Canada, you park your car in Windsor and bus over to the Joe. If you bring your car over, you might not get it back. Or you might get it back less whatever the thugs want to take from it. Like they say driving out, keep your doors locked and wheels rolling at all times. Red light or not, keep rolling.

Gordon Howe from HockeyTown, United States writes: Loud troll has to put his 2 cents in. Just can't keep that yapper shut. So there are hard times. There's hard times everywhere right now or can't that diesel infested brain of yours comprehend that. Been to Toronto? Nothing bad ever happens there does it. As for driving through here why don't you stay where you live? Can't find work there? You have to go where the work is? How's the auto sector in Ontario doing loud troll? Moving at break neck speed? Oh ya right you deliver Toyotas. Yup some proud canadian you are. Helping sell the North American auto industry down the tubes while spouting your phoney patriotism. We don't need you or your two faced ideology here. One more thing, I see your Heatly is scoring pretty good at the Worlds. Amazing isn't it. What's that tell you about your german born high priced prima dona. Sorry can't dally I have a game to go to tonight. You know they're still playing hockey in the NHL don't you? It's called the playoffs.

Proud Canadian from Canada writes: Gordon, one more thing. I go thru Detroit every day. In and out. Down fort street, Dragoon, on Interstate 75 and gone. I do all my business in Ohio. Michigan is just a highway to get where I have to go. The company I haul for has plants in both Canada and the US, parts are made in both Canada and US, its my job to get these parts to plants in Canada or US. Nothing more, nothing less. I have no criminal record, one has to be able to get a Fast Pass to the US or you do not work for the firm I haul for. Plain and simple. Detroit is the border crossing, lock your doors, dont let the wheels stop rolling. Even for red lights, keep er movin. Keeps the crak heads off your running boards yelling at you thru the closed window.

Gordon Howe from HockeyTown, United States writes: So mister garbage truck driver you've never said what megalopolis you reside in, or don't you want the rest of us to have a good laugh. If it wasn't for Detroit half on your Ontario economy wouldn't exist. It's called the automotive industry and as I read your province isn't doing that well either. Windsor is on the skids along with other towns that produce cars and trucks. As a matter of fact it looks like a lot of them will be closing and moving back to the States. See how you feel then loud troll.

Detroit IS scary. I've never seen a large American city in such shambles like that. Newark may be a dive, but the Devils at least have a city on the rebound. Detroit and its main industry is becoming a third world ghost city.- Posted 11/05/08 at 4:16 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Gordon, if it were your business where I live, I would tell you. I live in a great city in Southwestern Ontario. Not Sarnia, Not London, Not Windsor. U figure it out. But ur an American, you will probably say Dearborn, or Port Huron, or Sault Ste Marie. Im a Canadian, and very proud of it.

Oh, really, what about the big plant Toyota is building in Woodstock ONTARIO, what about the big engine plant Honda is building in ALLISTON, Ontario, what about all the parts plants that are going up around Woodstock ONTARIO to supply the parts for Toyota. Gordon, been to Westhaven Mi lately, the big Ford Stamping plant? Only 1 car on the lot, the SECURITY GUARDS. Been to see the big Jeep plant just as you enter Toledo? Mostly shut down, nothing happening. The company I work for are very very busy thank you, overtime is posted on Monday's for the weekend. Its requested that you do an extra trip every 2nd weekend. We do not haul for the big 3, we haul for the others. That makes us busy, that keeps money coming to my bank account every Friday, that makes me happy. Be in Detroit tonite around 9, Disfunction Junction and Fort Street. On my way to Dayton OH. See all the Crak Heads and working ladies before I put er on cruise and do my thing.

PC and Gordon, you two are insane! The Wings do have an attendance problem and yes, a lot of its related to the economic situation in Detroit and yes, a lot of it has to do with Wings fans complacency due to how regularly they win. But you two make it all so personal! And the thing is, youre both articulate, knowledgable hockey fans.. accept when the other ones around. Get over it and ignore each other why dont you?
And Claude, for what its worth, my hats off to anyone who can handle one of those big rigs. I tried, I hated it, lol.- Posted 12/05/08 at 12:42 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Bill he's the ding dong that started all this BS long ago during the season. You know when the Sens thought they had a team, along with the loud troll? I've driven a rig. Nothin to it. All you have to do is make sure you're not too fat so that the wheel rubs on your trucker gut. Just make sure that the hooker you pick up at the truck stop's got three teeth instead of two. Yup he's one proud one that Limp Bizcuit. Hauling rice machines and putting the north american auto industry down the tubes. Yup even the CAW boss would love to meet with this proud one. He's so proud he doesn't care about Windsor shutting down. He doesn't care about St. Catherines shutting down. Nope he hates the States yet works here. He bad mouths the motor city but never says what hamlet he's from. He's a proud one but deals with a foreign name plate. Yup it's easy to see where he comes from. I'd like to know why he's here in the first place? His team was done ages ago. His team is golfing or playing paddycake at the worlds. Why's he here where the men are playing in the NHL Playoffs? Jealousy? Insecurity? Needs to see what real teams look like?
