Flinton Rice from Toronto, Canada writes: I think that Jeff Blair was drunk when he wrote this. I can't say that it makes the most sense or that I even understand the general gist of the article. Regardless, reading it was a waste of time.
Gibbons sucks - fire him. There - that's good advice and it only took me four words.- Posted 06/05/08 at 9:54 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Flinton Rice from Toronto, Canada writes: How can you keep your mouth shut when talking?
I think you want to say - "People should not talk about firing personnel (not personal)"
Judging by your excellent command of the English language - I would guess that you are John Gibbons. Just a guess.- Posted 06/05/08 at 11:53 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Ken Balderston from Toronto, Canada writes: I agree it's tough to get a grasp of what Jeff Blair is trying to say here. The Blue Jays are bad? They have poor personel?
One thing that's becoming clear is JP is the one who should be fired. The fact he can't see how firing Gibbons would help is one thing, but the manager is questioning the talent JP brought in (Thomas/Eckstein). The only player JP has drafted who's average is Aaron Hill, and this is a team that has a LONG history of getting players to the majors and the all star game.
The players he has gone out an gotten can't beat the Royals and Rays on the road, how can he seriously expect this team to compete with the Yankees and Red Sox. The division is not the excuse - THIS TEAM IS JUST NOT VERY GOOD!- Posted 06/05/08 at 4:38 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Tony! Tony! from Canada writes: Ken: Marcum, Litsch, and Jannsen seem like pretty decent players to me. All were drafted by J.P.
I'm not saying JP doesn't deserve some criticism, but at least give him some credit....
Also, the Rays swept the Red Sox a week or so ago. Does that make the Red Sox a terrible team who can't possibly contend?- Posted 06/05/08 at 5:35 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
