  1. Steven Rzewski from toronto, Canada writes: Hockey being fun!? What a concept! Must not be any Canadians involved!
  2. Mariposa Belle from Leacockland, Canada writes: Try bringing a drum or trumpet to a NHL game. You would probably be tossed because it interferes with the spontaneous canned music and the spontaneous Make Noise messages.

I think Burns has the right idea and should put these guys on salary.
  3. CD W from Canada writes: To quote Joe Clark, It is good that we can celebrate or "common nordicity". Probably not a word, but we almost circumpolar folks need to party together more often.
  4. Al B from Canada writes: Wait until those 'lovable' Latvian fans riot like they did 2 years ago at home.
  5. Piet F from Canada writes: Al B: Riot? Are you nuts? A few people chucked coins on the ice after a terrible call from a referee. Much worse stuff happens here in Canada - like real riots in Edmonton, Vancouver and Montreal following hockey games.

Check out the YouTube clip of it - once one of the Latvian players came out and asked them to settle down, everyone cheered and they got on with the game.

I was in Turin for the Olympics in 2006 - and the Latvian fans were the most incredible people. Fun, perhaps slightly drunk, but always with a big smile - even after their team was crushed by a bigger opponent. We could learn a lot from them. Meanwhile, we Canadians were outcheered by any of the teams we faced despite having a large contingent there in support.
