Roger S from Canada writes: Mitchell had played golf in Orlando last Sunday afternoon after practice, the day before the Raptors' season-ending loss to the Orlando Magic in the fifth game?
You know, Sam Mitchell and TJ Ford are biggest jokes in this world. BC can stay with Sam, but if Sam fails next season, BC should be fired along with Sam.- Posted 02/05/08 at 9:35 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Rich Chan from Vancouver, Canada writes: What worries me is that Colangelo keeps both Mitchell and TJ. If he's going to keep one, then keep Mitchell and get rid of TJ. It's obvious he can't coach proficiently with a bias towards him. Anyways, I don't think we're getting rid of Mitchell anyways, but he's going to need to learn to make better decisions this year. Ugh, probably going to be another .500 season coming up guys. I can't wait (sarcasm).

Phil Allegory from Canada writes: Oh, please, please, please drop Mitchell... he is a terrible coach, and we know Colangelo can make better choices, and can finally, with his acclaim bring a good coach to the city. Sam doesn't mesh with what has been set up... drop him, bring in Avery Johnson, Flip Saunders, Mike D'Antoni, Jeff Van Gundy, any of these guys with experience to help turn this team around.
Step 1) Fire Sam
Step 2) Trade TJ
Setp 3) Trade about 5 other guys, that we'd hate to loose, but have credentials now, so we can bring in new, forceful players...
Step 4) Made it deep into the second round next year.- Posted 02/05/08 at 12:48 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Do you know what is SAM job? Coach. This is his job to lead the team and do this job right. Golfing in the middle of an important series? You gotta be kidding me. I believe you must have the experience of working hard due to some tight deadline or a lot of work. You will put in extra hours here and there. You will try to eliminate socials and leisures for a short time, until the task is done. The playoff wasn't even ended yet, he went to play golf? If the coach gave up, how do you expect your players to play hard on the court.
BC probably is waiting for an opportunity to make a change. He sees what's wrong and his job is making the team successful and keeping the attendance up. If FANS doesn't like Sam, he needs to take care of this problem.- Posted 02/05/08 at 1:47 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Big Cayman from South Toronto, Canada writes: Good for you Colangelo, you need to take some of the blame for the poor Raptors squad instead of scape-goating Mitchell. The best thing you could do now is get rid of Bargnani and call it a mulligan. If a 7ft player can't post up he's pretty useless, sorry Bargnani apologists but posting up and rebounding is a skill every player should have, (let's not even talk about his defense) there are even point guards in the league proficient at both and they are the elite ones. Had you drafted Lamarcus Aldridge like Bosh asked you to do, we would not be in the position of finding someone who can defend, rebound and score in the paint and take some of the scoring burden inside of 15 feet. LOL at Rog and Rich hahaha! The Euro experiment has been an abysmal failure, please get us some players who can actually jump instead of just stretching their necks, loafing around the perimeter or pretending that they are cinder blocks in the key, and for good measure get rid of Swirsky and tell him to stick that Salami and Cheese right up his...hehehe.

albert strauss from Toronto,Ontario, Canada writes: I am persuaded that all the Raps are to the Ownership are just so many sell outs. The fans who enjoy a well played , well coached game are simply attendance numbers. As long as there are "issues" to keep them distracted and the turnstiles turning, there is no motivation to put a better product on the floor. Disillusioning isnt it? I feel somewhat " had" being a genuine buff and former player albeit at a much lower level

Jackie Moon from Toronto, Canada writes: I don't know where we'd be without Big Cayman and Roger S aka the G&M board's biggest broken records. Rog- TJ's probably gone but Mitchell is coming back next year so get used to it. Cayman- BC didn't draft Aldridge. If you're so turned on with his post skills go support the chocolate trifecta in Portland. But putting all the blame on Colangelo for the crappy season especially after Mitchell was outcoached by Van Gundy? I could count all the times the Raps scored after a timeout in that whole series on one hand. But Van Gundy probably has some Euro roots so he gets no credit right?

Big Cayman from South Toronto, Canada writes: Geez Moon, you have to be either retarded, or blind to not see the ridiculous Euro bias of Colangelo. Pointing out his big mistake is just calling a spade a spade, if it offends you too bad. What great words of wisdom have you brought to this discussion board? Give me a break, Garbajosa? Bargnani? Brezec??? Nesterovic?? Well Nesterovic has some game but at his inflated salary?? Parker is by far his best find but he already played in the NCAA and NBA. Colangelo even chooses a guy who supports his bs as his assistant GM. Italian-only press releases and training camp in Italy away from the city that foots its bill, what's that? Bargnani was a terrible pick for a 1st overall. Watching him sulk in the playoffs and look so disinterested was pathetic especially for a guy who has so many flaws in his game, man, some of you need to give your heads a shake, this is pro NBA basketball not Rautins House summer camp. Shouldn't Gherardini take some responsibility for this highly touted prospect? This article was about Colangelo keeping Mitchell, so givng him support for not scapegoating Mitchell and criticizing the job he's done with recruiting efforts is well within the purview of this board. Your comment regarding Van Gundy is totally irrelevant, what are you trying to say?

Rich Chan from Vancouver, Canada writes: Big C, let's just say the feud is over because the season is over. Let's leave the Euro-crap talk out and just deal with the players for who they are. People. Moon, Calderon, Delfino, Bosh, Garbajosa, Nesterovic, Kapono and Bargnani are all worth keeping. Ford and Graham need to go. If they keep Ford, we're not making the playoffs next year. Bottom-line.

Big Cayman from South Toronto, Canada writes: Garbajosa?? Bargnani?? LOL give me a break, Garbo is finished and was never that good anyways, very average, and you're forgetting how he stunk it up coming back from injury and how he whined about playing time when he should have been resting. You also forget how he got Gasol to whine on his behalf and how he opted out of surgery instead playing for Spain when his injury and the franchise who pays his salary should have taken priority. Bargnani, his value is going down daily, my guess is that he does nothing over the summer to prepare himself for next year, but nahhh let's blame Mitchell (Allan Wexler) for the ills of this one trick pony, but even his trick wasn't working for the most part. Colangelo should let Gabajosa go play for Spain in Beijing, he does nothing for the Raptors, cut him loose.
