The NHL has been coming after Fabian Brunnstrom for months; now the 23-year-old Swedish forward has come to North America to determine where he will be playing hockey this fall.
Brunnstrom was in Dallas Tuesday chatting with members of the Stars' management. It was the first of at least three NHL cities Brunnstrom will visit. The others include Detroit and Montreal and perhaps Toronto, where the Maple Leafs have been following Brunnstrom's career for more than a year.
"They'd like to see Fabian," Brunnstrom's agent, J.P. Barry of CAA Sports, said of the Maple Leafs. "We can adjust his trip to take in a few more teams."
A free agent who was never drafted by the NHL, Brunnstrom has attracted as many as 15 offers and has whittled that number down to a workable list of teams based on the opportunity they afford.

Some teams, such as the Red Wings, have depth at forward and a proven track record at developing players. Other teams, such as the Maple Leafs, are capable of offering Brunnstrom a chance to play right away.
"He's just trying to make a good decision," said Barry. "Nothing's 100 per cent (done) yet."
The 6-foot-1, 203-pound winger played for Farjestad of the Swedish Elite League. He had 37 points in limited duty with Farjestad.
