Blue Jays recall Lind from Syracuse

Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, MO. — Adam Lind, who was hitting .356 with three home runs and 15 RBIs for Triple-A Syracuse, was recalled Saturday by the Toronto Blue Jays and started in left field against the Kansas City Royals.

The 24-year-old Lind was the Blue Jays' third-round pick in 2004 out of the University of South Alabama. He had a .593 slugging percentage and .418 on-base percentage with Syracuse.

He hit .238 with 11 home runs in 89 games last year, but struck out 65 times in 290 at-bats. In 107 career games with Toronto, Lind has hit .260 with 13 homers and 54 RBIs.

To make roster space for Lind, the Blue Jays optioned infielder Joe Inglett to Syracuse. Inglett hit .303 with four RBIs in 12 games
