NFL draft: Canadian content

From Saturday's Globe and Mail

Canadians on the NFL's radar who could be drafted or signed as priority free agents this weekend (name, position, college):

Jesse Newman, OL, Louisiana-Lafayette

Played junior football in Victoria and raised eyebrows at college with his determination and toughness.

Jabari Arthur, WR, Akron

Former quarterback at Montreal's Vanier College, switched positions at Akron and excelled despite lack of offensive talent around him.

Keith Shologan, DL, Central Florida

Alberta-bred, a wide body with ability to cover two gaps but equipped with a burst to create pressure from the middle.

Samuel Gigučre, WR, Sherbrooke

Raw, with tremendous physical skills. Will need a team that believes in potential.

Jerome Messam, RB, Graceland

Brampton, Ont., native has huge ability, but teams may be hesitant given his small-school background and off-field issues when at North Dakota.
