Dwide Schrude from Canada writes: Wells - .314 Average
Rios - .313 Average
Hill - .318 Average
Eckstein - .290 Average
Overbay - .271 Average
Stairs - .308 Average
Now Frank .......... .167 Average!!!
McDonald ............ .091 Average!!!
Zaun ................... .239 Average!!!
A team cannot compete with New York and Boston with this many weak spots in the lineup. Frank first, hopefully Zaun next and McDonald should have been in triple A weeks ago!! Good for Gibbons for actually showing he's willing to make the tough decisions. Don't let the players push you around, show they who's boss. It's the first gutsy thing I've seen Gibbons do all year.- Posted 19/04/08 at 1:12 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Shades of Grey from Whitehorse, Canada writes: The advantage of him hitting .167 is that he's not clogging up the base paths for the other batters. Gibbons, I'm with you all the way. Unfortunately, if Frank doesn't play he'll be clubhouse poison. Maybe it's time to buy him out.

Cyrus Of Persia from Canada writes: Good managing. I'm a Big Hurt fan, but Gibby's doing the right thing. Maybe Frank needs to do some practicing or make some adjustments. I hope he can.

SY GIL from TO, Canada writes: Batting averages can be very misleading. Let's see some stats on ba with runners in scoring positions and with the team trailing. Sometimes in blow out games, players pat their stats when the opponents throw out all the duds, and we know there are lots of them on each squad. Heck sometimes they even throw out infielders to pitch, Just as well, sometimes the Jays reliefers pitch like infielders. Ha Ha!!

SY GIL from TO, Canada writes: The nerve Big Hurt has. Bottom line is he's not doing the job he's paid to do. You don't pay $10M to a player and expect the guy to bat at the weight of a featherweight. Another poor signing by JP. I'd say this is comparable to JFJ's signing of Jason Blake. Why does TO has to put up with these GM's?

Joe Cool from Canada writes: Amazing reasoning - "Some other DH's are crappy so why shouldn't I"
Reply - "Those other crappy DH's should be benched as well only the management hasen't got the nerve"
How about Frank taking one for the team and saying " I'm not doing my job so I'd gladly go down to Triple A until my hitting comes around" Never a chance of that happening - his pride comes before the Blue Jays even though they are paying him $10 million a season.- Posted 19/04/08 at 3:30 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

jimmy funk from Canada writes: The Big Nothing says he's right down there with Thome and Sheff. Nice. Then blames the day off on next year's option. HILARIOUS!! Maybe its the buck-seventy average!
I knew this situation was going to blow up from the moment The Nose signed him. BRUTAL signing. Big "Hurt The Jays" was washed up 5 years ago.- Posted 19/04/08 at 5:20 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Shades of Grey from Whitehorse, Canada writes: Well, he's been hurting the Jays with his bat. Now he's hurting them with his attitude. I agree with SY GIL. He's paid great money to produce, and the Jays have an option on next year. If he's not producing why wouldn't they do what they have to do (i.e. bench him) to get out of next year?

Popeye Dillon from North Vancouver, Canada writes: I said it when the Jays picked up Thomas: He's not a team player and he'll make excuses when he doesn't perform. Lose him while you can.

Lorne Carmichael from Canada writes: The Jays now have 2 reasons to get rid of Thomas . He can not hit and his attitude is terrible . Good move by gibbons and now Riccardi has to step up and release him . Cut your losses and let's try to win this with guys like Matt Stairs . Time to get Adam Lind up to the majors .
