  1. Montgomery C. Burns from Springfield, Canada writes: It was nice to see the Caps make the playoffs after their slow start. They are looking scary! They may just come out of the East to the Cup finals.
  2. Tim Rutkevich from Canada writes: Caps certainly favorites against sluggish Ottawa. I think they were very smart in getting 3 impact players before trade deadline. Young team needed some stabilization. Now they are young, fast, and hungry team.
  3. Clint Lott from calgary, Canada writes: How awsome would it be to see Crosby and Ovechkin go head to head in the play offs. They are both fantastic hockey players with great teams behind them. Can't wait. it would have been easier to see this if the caps did not win their division. but I can still hope....
  4. Dave Morris from Ottawa, writes: Senators fans have reasons to worry. Caps swept them in the four-game series this year. Imagine how pumped up Ovie is now...
  5. R. Carriere from Maritimes, Canada writes:

I have been watching this team on the NHP package since January and are they ever fun to watch especially with Ovechkin! They are the real deal and will turn a few heads in the playoffs. Brilliant trade deadline moves of Huet-Fedorov (playing like he is 28 and not 38) and Cooke (Canuck fans wouldn't recognize him...)

All deals done for a 2 nd round pick, a guy who will not be a top 4 "D", and a guy that didn't appear to fit into the new system. Now that's how a good GM acts! Get inpact players while giving nothing up.

Even if these guys are all UFA's, who wouldn't want to play for a team that will contend for the Cup for at least the next 5 years?

If I'm a Senators fan and have to play these guys, I'd be very, VERY concerned!

  6. Jasper the Black Lab from Vancouver and Elsewhere, Canada writes: I would really like to see Washington go far in the playoffs, maybe up aginst the Penguins in the semifinals.

But I will puke if Matt Cooke wins the Stanley Cup.
  7. Lyn Alg from Canada writes: So, who's the best and most exciting hockey player in the NHL today and probably for many years to come? Without a question - Ovechkin ! Bar none. no other player even comes near him when it comes to sheer talent, skill, and excitement.
  8. Dave Morris from Ottawa, writes: Since hiring Boudreau, Washington has been one of the top 4 teams in the league. Boudreau has something of Scotty Bowman about him: excellent strategist and motivator. He has won championships everywhere he has coached. Final four in the East will probably be Caps, Habs, Pens, Rangers. Exciting hockey ahead.

Morning Dave: Boudreau was 37-17-7 since he took over. 20 games over .500 in the last 61 NHL games! Not too many other teams in the entire league can claim that!

Like I said, if I was a Senators fan, I'd be very concerned to have to play the Caps!

Almost agree with all your picks, but I'll choose Marty Brodeur over the Rangers. He does have a way to come up big when it counts, but it would be tough to bet against Gomez, Drury, Shanahan, Jagr....looks like a 7 game series.

Ummm... I'm going to go with Belak.
