  1. Danny Boyd from Canada writes: The best thing that could happen to the Flames is to miss the playoffs because the team's and management's weaknesses would be laid bare. Their scouting department is totally inept as well as management which seems to always trade away their draft picks for over-the-hill players. They, unlike Detroit, Montreal and most other teams, can't grasp the concept that the team's foundation is the draft. Last year the Flames dropped from 16th to 20th in the first round of the draft and had traded away both their picks in the 2nd and 3rd. How can they build a foundation like this? This is why the team didn't make any worthwhile trades before the deadline. There was nothing on the farm that anyone wanted. As for the team, Kipper masked the fact that it was not capable of making the playoffs without him.

And Eric, why don't you to an investigative report on the Flames record of drafting and the budget on the scouting department as well its personnel. It would be an interesting article.
  2. Hap Stokes from Canada writes: Krazze Nucklehead glad about 6-2 win over Cowtown Sunday.
But still hoping the Flames get their act in gear this week.
Beat the Nuks for 7th and wind up 8th and Vanc gets to face DETROIT.
Then it's Bye-Bye Reddies Mr Little Bushes Cup winner in 6 or 7.

If anybody can fry those huge giant Sharks it may the Flameouts.
And Canucks will give a few broken Wings to the President's winners.
Sadly though, bet the Big Sharks will win 16 play-off games this year.
  3. Hugo Hall from Calgary, Canada writes: Danny Boyd: You are absolutely right. Much as I would lament missing out on the excitement that grips this city come playoff time, in the long run some early April golfing would serve as a wake-up call to a franchise that needs some retooling.
  4. m Perrin from Calgary, Canada writes: Go OIL!
