  1. dan vanman from vancouver, Canada writes: The Flames tried to get rough at the end, but it didn't work out. You can't intimidate the canucks this year. Great win, I knew the season wasn't over yet!

Now comes the Avs on Tues. . Same thing must happen.

BTW- LInden was freakin' awesome! 2 goals, all over the ice...Canucks best player, and he's 37. The kids need him, if I was Nonis, I'd talk him into one more year.

Coach V . knew what he was doing with Trevor too, keeping him fresh until the games got really important.

    Lets keep it going guys!
  2. Ed Long from white Rock, Canada writes: My work out buddy is a Canuckle Head. Told me he would shoot himself if they loose.

Glad I don't have to make a 911 call so that his dog doesn't eat his body.

    This time.
  3. dan vanman from vancouver, Canada writes: ED...come on buddy. This time? They did good tonight, didn't you care...just a little?

    Gald your buddy "made" it...

    LOL
  4. Michael Sharp from Victorious, Canada writes:

    Oh thank Gawd.

    Man.
    I love my 'nucks.

Please dear God In heavon, let them win the Cup.

    It's all I ask.
  5. Jabber Wocky from Canada writes: Mike Sharp... I'm a 'Nucks fan too, but have come to realize that being such is a little on the masochistic side. You'd be better off praying for world peace - it'll come sooner than a Cup.
  6. Too Much Rain from Canada writes: TREVOR FRIGGIN' LINDEN!!!
  7. dan vanman from Canada writes: Come on Jabber...I am a pagan, and I'll get down on my knees to join Michael if it means a Cup! Every little bit helps... Trevor Friggen' Linden INDEED!!!
  8. Popeye Dillon from North Vancouver, Canada writes: "Live to fight another day!"
  9. Dman West Coast from Canada writes: Well,

I am a huge fan but was very critical the other night. Bitersweet in this one. Linden was great, Naslund was motivated too......nice to see.
The Sedins were still very much a non factor again tonight.
If they make the playoffs, and I hope they do although it will be very tough, the Sedins will not be effective in that type of game. Remember wholed themin playoff scoring last year?

Anyway, noce for Roberto to not have to work too hard tonight.............he deserves the support he got.
  10. Hap Stokes from Canada writes: Hate to say: "Eye tole ya so", but dinna eye tell ya this would happen?
  11. evelyn robinson from Canada writes: Way to go Trevor.
He would probably have even more goals if the dumb coach would let him play and play with credible linemates
  12. Scot Loucks from Pickering, Canada writes: Very nice under pressure win....

Tough road to hoe though. Nashville has two against St. Louis and one against Chicago. Vancouver has to play teams that care. (Edmonton would love nothing better than to finish ninth).

Anyway.... good luck Canuck fans... cheering for you (not betting on you though).

    Cheers
  13. Danny Boyd from Canada writes: The Flames have bankrupted their future because of their penchant for trading away their draft choices and having the poorest scouting department in the NHL. There is nothing on the farm to help them and in spite or having 4 or so of top players there is very little support. Can you imagine the position they would be if they didn't have Kipper and how he masked their weaknesses? Remember what happened when he wasn't on top of his game? When is it going to get through the thick skulls of the management that a top notch scouting department is a priority like it is for teams like Montreal and Detroit, in fact for every team except Calgary? Wait till next year when our free agents leave (not that they will be missed that much) but how will the holes be plugged? There will be a lot of misery next year in cowtown when Edmonton will eating their lunch. Doesn't Lowe look like a genius now with the Smyth trade?
  14. Scot Loucks from Pickering, Canada writes: Danny Boyd.... no scouting department can look worse than the Leafs.

Lowe and Gainey both look like geniuses right now..... salary cap world can change that around in a hurry

    Cheers
  15. Carl Baldin from Canada writes: I'm a Flames fan and am I ever amazed by the lack of fire they have. I went to the Edmonton/Calgary game Saturday night and the Flames players just seem to be going through the motions, filling in their time, while the Oiler (kids) were hustling, full of vigor.

The Flames deserve to miss the playoffs based on their lack of effort!
On paper they are a much better team, in reality, they need some guts!
  16. Jasper the Black Lab from Vancouver and Elsewhere, Canada writes: I reserve judgement for at least one more game. Therefore will stick to petty details for today: This is Trevor Linden's 19th NHL season, not 20th as the article mis-states.
  17. Joe Calgarian from Canada writes: Jasper, come on man! We all know that the G&M's articles are impeccably accurate. Hey Shames, from an Oilers fan, once again, thanks for nothing.
  18. David Gehring from Ottawa, Canada writes: When Trevor Linden is your best player for most of the last 19 years, you know you're a lousy franchise.
  19. Popeye Dillon from North Vancouver, Canada writes: David Gehring: You'd be wise to reserve comment on lousy franchises. Yours is about to make history.
  20. Allan Hewitson from kitimat, B.C., Canada writes: Canucks will need to register a few more games with the good bounces going their way before they can embark on planning any Stanley Cup parade.

This was also some of the worst and most one-sided refereeing I have ever watched. It is a matter of time before the NHL has a goaltender literally killed, or with a broken neck or back. There is no protection and big forwards are just running the goalies. Vancouver, Anaheim and Pittsburgh worst offenders.

All the usual NHL head office no-tolerance crap went out the window weeks ago -- they call the little stick touches for hooking, but the head shots, crease area violemce is back to where it was two or three years ago, Open season on goalies.

It's a grim prognosis for the playoffs. I am disgusted with the quality of refereeing this late season. That being said, I also see Keenan's lack of loyalty and faith in his players as a serious reason for listless play. A guy pursuing his 50th goal gets sat after a gut wrenching two periods of effort that has been a mark of his season. Classless...
  21. Douglas Freestone from Canada writes: Must say that as a Calgary fan I am more than a little unnerved about the Flames play against Vancouver last night and Edmonton the night before. Calgary has now squandered two fantastic opportunities to finish first. The had four games on the road against sub-500 teams and they lost three of them, then they had two games hand playing Edmonton and Vancouver. I must say that Vancouver looked pretty convincing last night. Momentum is often key going into the playoffs, and if they can keep that up they are going to be a royal pain for however they play in the first round. Luongo is still one of the best in the league and Linden obviously has more than a few games left in him.
  22. Dman West Coast from Canada writes: Well,

Canucks and Clagary are both strange teamsindeed. Youd never know they are battling for a playoff position.

Whatever happens to them (I hope they both make it ) I really, really hope Minnesota gets their as_ _s kicked!

I hate that team, their coach and their goon squad.

Anaheim will knock theri lights out in 4 straight........if they make it that far.
  23. Hap Stokes from Canada writes: Carl Baldin from Canada writes: I'm a Flames fan I went to the Edmonton/Calgary game Saturday night and the Flames players just seem to be going through the motions,

Carl--- HNIC must be jazzing UP their feed outside Pengrove then, because we watched that Garlic/Cowboy battle (say again BATTLE) and it was the first real hockey in a month of Sundays on CBC.

We will watch hockey like that anytime in lieu of 'Canada's Team'.
PS--Not biased for Garlic or Cow, I cheer for the Hornblower Nuks

    Michael My Son--Dear GOD here
Sorry My Son, cannot grant your request!
The Canuck forwards cannot put the Biscuit n da Basket.
If you Pray really hard though, EYE might just change My mind.
