Seahawks add Mare

Associated Press

KIRKLAND, Wash. — The Seattle Seahawks signed former Pro Bowl kicker Olindo Mare to replace departed free agent Josh Brown on Thursday.

Mare spent 10 years with Miami and is the Dolphins' career leader in field goals (245), points (1,048) and field-goal accuracy (.809).

He kicked for the New Orleans Saints last season and struggled, making 10 of 17 field-goal attempts and scoring 64 points before missing the final five games of the season with a dislocated right hip.

Brown, a key to the Seahawks' four consecutive NFC West division championships, signed earlier this month with the St. Louis Rams.
