Oswaldo I from Canada writes: This is a good idea. It would probably be bigger than MLS games. Hpefully, in the future they will include development league teams as well and turn this into a proper cup competition.

CSA had nothing to do with this but use a rubber stamp when the other three teams put this together (TFC initiative) and gave it to CSA on a silver platter. In fact, if they didn't have to take it to CSA, it probably would have been done quicker. If by "CSA finally got something right" you mean that CSA stepped out of the way and didn't screw this up for Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, then you are right, their inaction was the best course of action.- Posted 27/03/08 at 4:22 PM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

A Banana from Canada writes: I love the idea. It's going to give the soccer community something to be excited about across the country. I credit the pro clubs for their leadership.

Alias No Name from Vanuatu writes: Who cares if CSA and/or the 3 pro Teams have gotten it right?
The missing infrastracture for leagues and especially youth/junior/reserves development is a mile long so,anything is 'great"......
If Mr. Gellette comes and says he will further his "philantropic" activies for the betterment of the Country he got rich in and support Junior Leagues here...It would cost him less then a salary of one of the players in Liverpool and/or The Coaches expenses....{Benitez}
Why doesn't he apportion a sum that would do it?
The Great West Lives/Investor Groups/Power corporations aren't doing it,the "utilities" aren't doing it,the Gov't's are not doing it...so,this could be agreat thing he could sink his teeth into...
As a rich person he has to know that the money will not go to the grave with him.....Truly "rich" people nowaddays give stuff away,rather to use to further enrichment...
He will get "tax-breaks" to do it...{better then selling stuff}
So,Mr. Gillette,where are you?- Posted 28/03/08 at 12:57 AM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
