Well, Jesse Litsch has just given up back to back singles by Jeff Keppinger and Scott Hatteberg after facing one batter over the minimum through six despite a couple of errors and despite hitting Jerry Hairston, Jr., with a pitch.
Litsch just walked Joey Votto and you sometimes see this in spring: guy hasn't had to work from the stretch all that often and then he has to do it for a few batters in a row. Jolbert Cabrera's and Litsch - to his credit - starts him off with a curve after it was a curve that was called for ball four on Votto. The Reds get on the board on Cabrera's ground out - Hill settles for one out at second - and then Andy Phillips ties it up with a sacrifice fly. Nice base-running by Cabrera to go to second after the throw gets by Gregg Zaun all the way to the back-stop. That's error No. 3 on the Blue Jays and - oh my gosh - Hairston just hammered the snot out of a pitch way, way foul down the left-field line.
Litsch gets Hairston to fly out with the go-ahead run on second. Put it in the books ... Litsch is the first Blue Jays pitcher to work seven innings this spring.
