Simon Croswell from Toronto, Canada writes: Is anyone starting to think that the severity and duration of Sundin and Antropov's "injuries" are directly related to Leaf management's desire to obtain a better draft pick? Both injuries appeared out of nowhere and are not verifiable (as would be a broken leg). Just asking.

J.C. Petite from Toronto, Canada writes: Simon Croswell, it just does not work that way in pro sports and in case you have not noticed yet, Leaf management is not trying to get a high draft pick. If that truly was the case, Toskala would not be starting his 28th consecutive game tonight. Antropov being hurt is never an anomaly, and Sundin's groin is tweaked, happens all the time to players.

Pat Billings from CDN, Canada writes: Sundin is done for the season. After this week (maybe even tonight), the leaf will be out and there will be no use for the old Swede to get back on the ice and aggravate the injury.
Sundin will be free to start his summer vacation before everybody else. Just like he wanted in the first place....- Posted 25/03/08 at 2:30 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

J.C. Petite from Toronto, Canada writes: Pat Billings why can't you just vanish?? Are you a Sens fan?? If you are, please why don't you take a look at your own brutal team?? If you are a Habs fans, well congratulations, everybody is terribly impressed. Now go email CBC or something.

R. M. from Regina, Canada writes: Simon Croswell asked about management's objectives. Given that Sundin was so against and outspoken about a trade I can't imagine him sitting silently if he were well but not playing. Having said that we know that life is full of smoke and mirror events.

Proud Albertan from Edmonton, Canada writes: How a province that produce such great NHL players can tolerate such a sucky team for so long. Did the fans become too complacent? I blamed the CBC they simply glorify loosing and ruining my Saturday night hockey. Bring back Rita McNeil and dump the LEAFS. Is Harold Ballard running the team from his grave by any chance that will explain it in a nutshell literally?

Patrick G from Calgary, Canada writes: I didn't realise a private entity such as the G&M HAD to acquiesce to satisfy all of its customers equally across the country. If you don't like the coverage, read another newspaper or visit another site instead of coming in here to complain about it. You likley also don't realise that coming in here to complain about the Leafs only increases the hits registered at the site for which the G&M uses to set its advertising rates. More hits = more $$ = more Leaf coverage.
It's actually very brilliant to see the haters actually propogate more Leaf coverage at the end of the day. If ye of the short attention span would go to the bottom of the Sports section and click on the Hockey section, you'd see that there are articles for each of the Canadian teams available for consumption.- Posted 25/03/08 at 4:31 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

J.C. Petite from Toronto, Canada writes: Patrick, dont waste your breath, its like talking to a brick wall. Leaf haters have nothing better to do then to come on here and whine. Bottom line, Leafs have the biggest fan base in the NHL - most coverage.

Jake ---- from Canada writes: I like this team, that is on this ice right now. Moore, tlusty, steen, stajan and blake have all looked great. These guys are fast and can dangle. I think if Sundin chooses to come back next season he should relinquish the C.
Stajan has taken this team on his back and he looks to be a better leader then sundin- Posted 25/03/08 at 5:04 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Proud Albertan from Edmonton, Canada writes: No you got it all wrong. We love the Leafs and the Montreal Canadians and the tradition of great hockey in Canada. To see them loosing for so long is just painful. I am in mid fifty and I can still remember good hockey from the east. Thanks for sending us all those great players from Ontario and Quebec.

JM Work from Canada writes: This is really a non-story. Sundin should just come out and admit he wont play another game this season and that he has likely played his last game as a Leaf.
