Krakatoa East of Java from Canada writes: key challenge is to convince the public and larry o'brien this is not a back door set up leading to redevelopment of the entire area (which no one has to yet to say out right that it is not). They say the initial deal will be to bring football to Ottawa again but they do not dismiss the possibility of future redevelopment beyond rebuilding portions of Frank Clair stadium- Obrien and Glebe dwellers should be very concerned that personal profit is being put ahead of community needs and interests.

Marc Chasseur from Canada writes: The best thing that could happen for football in Ottawa would be the city hosting the Francophonie Games again. Of course, these games unquestionably serve some greater public good (as opposed to a lowly football team), thus this would mean Frank Clair Stadium would be quickly refurbished at taxpayers' expense without a whiff of public consultation or protest from city councillors.
