Mariposa Belle from Leacockland, Canada writes: Montreal moved from a downtown arena to...a downtown arena. Toronto kept the sports facitlity downtown, where the transit exists.
Ottawa put the facitlity in a cornfield to boost revenues for the developers who made the bid. This is not a knock on those who revived the Sens, but there were other options which would have contributed more to the entire community, in my opinion.
I think more locals and tourists would want to have the local NHL arena on their list of places to visit than the local parliament and legislative buildings.
