  1. Proud Canadian from Canada writes: Tiger's by far the best golfer in the world today. When you go to a tournament (which I have done many times) that he's in, the crowds are there. I was at the Buick Open in Grand Blank MI oh 3-4 yrs ago, there was a chance (good one too) that he was going to miss the cut on Friday. There was a fire sale of goods from the concessions. What was priced in the hundreds of dollars were discounted into the 50s of dollars. He made it, by 1 stroke. Go figure, he's the best, he draws the biggest crowd. The only other golfer to draw big crowds in a tournament is Freddy Couples. Mickelson draws some but Tiger and Freddy draw the biggest crowds. In fact, if John Daly is there, he draws bigger than Mickelson.

    You seem like a good guy, and I believe you know your golf. But you need to end your man crush on Eldrick. Change out of the Woods pajamas, stop buying Nike everything and trade in that Buick that was probably a lemon anyway. No need to post here just to tell everybody how great his is. We have Jim Nance, Jonnie Miller, the golf channel, well pretty much the whole media to do that for us.

    Have to disagree on the crowds - though you’re right about Eldrick's. Having been to several Phoenix - now FBR - Opens and the last two Accenture Match Plays in Tucson, after Eldrick, nobody draws even close to Phil, Daly included. In fact Daly draws a bigger crowd and the bar after he posts an 83.

When Tiger's at a tournament, be it in Pheonix or somewhere in Michigan/Ohio where I live, tickets are at a premium. If and when he has a chance to miss the cut, the concessions clear the stock. Garage sale. U dont see them chasing Mickelson, Durant, Adam Scott and the likes. Tiger, Freddie, Daly. Tiger for the true golfers, Freddie for the lady golfers, and Daly for the golfers who want a lot of fun. The rest, 2 put, 3 put, who cares. Gotta remember, how much does Buick pay Tiger for the name on the bag? $10MUS a year. For a name on the bag. I rest my case. B T W.... What is the appearance fee they send to Tiger to be at the Dubai Open? Do you know?????
  4. Mayor Quimby from Scottsdale, United States writes: My understanding is he gets 3 mil for showing up in Dubai. That means we won’t see him around the TPC Scottsdale for a while. Ironic though that the most attended event in tour history has managed to grow every year since he last teed it up in Scottsdale.
