max from edmonton from Canada writes: Roberto will do the right thing. I sincerely wish the best for the Luongo family.
As an Oiler Fan I am Ecstatic that Mrs Luongo is about to deliver a baby that will take the best goalie on the planet away from the Canucks.
Edmonton needs to leapfrog someone to make the playoffs, I would prefer Colorado, but Vancouver will do.
Best wishes to the Luongos.- Posted 25/03/08 at 4:23 PM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

dan vanman from vancouver, Canada writes: Thanks Max, though a good Candian kid like you would rather its the Avs right? Looks like it might be the 'Nucks though...losing to the Avs tonight.
All kidding aside, I wish the best for the Luongos too. I believe this has taken more out of him than he'd like to admit. Its probably at the root of a ( for him) substandard season. (and that is not blaming him...just seems likely)
However, all they have to do is make it in. Once the baby is born, and there is less of a distraction for him...look out rest of the West!- Posted 26/03/08 at 11:24 PM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

John Miles from Burlington, Canada writes: If this was my wife and with me having all the money Luongo already has I'm already there. This is the most important person in your life and she's have a difficult time with the birth of your child. You're in the entertainment business, pushing a puck up and down the ice. Sorry boys, you need to get your priorities right.

max from edmonton from Canada writes: A few days since this story came out and it looks like Luongo will not miss much, and also less likely the Oilers will have a shot at the Playoffs.
If the oilers cant make it I hope both the Canucks and the Av's make it and keep them nasty preds out.
To John Miles, Luongo will be there for his familly, but it is not only about money. These are men that give blood, tears, toil, and sweat for each other. Luongo knows that without him his teammates have a far less chance of success.
I am sure his family is first, but he wants to be a good team mate too. Cant fault him for that.
