He is a wonderful player and we're seeing him accomplish great things that we likely will never see ever again - but It's getting really boring. He lacks a personality and is very self centred - His jaggov caddie's attitude says it all...Tiger is just not likeable.
  2. Midtown Bob from Toronto, Canada writes: TW's game is at a level unseen ever in the history of golf. If Tiger is in a tournament everybody else will be playing for second place. If the pros want to break the streak, maybe they should practice harder, reinvent their swings, do something anything to raise their game or Herr Woods will run the table this year.

Btw the US Open is being played at Torrey Pines, Woods is unbeaten their in his last 6 or 7 events. Now would be a good time to place a large bet!
  3. Bot Mark from Canada writes: Why would anybody in golf or professional sports want to have a "personality"? As soon as you say anything remotely interesting, the media takes it completely out of context and makes a mountain out of a mole hill. Remember Phil's "inferior equipment" comment which was actually sort of a compliment to Tiger? How about Ian Poulter's recent comments?

That said, pros like Tiger and Vijay are actually supposed to be quite funny and personable in the clubhouse away from the cameras, while the media paints Vijay as a dry bore and Tiger as single-mindedly focused poker face. The most interesting "personality" guys on tour right now are John Daly (probably because he's drunk) and Boo Weekley with his simple, good 'ol boy persona. Boo is entertaining but I doubt others will want to emulate him.

The days of having a Trevino jawing with the fans and other players are over. There is just too much media scrutiny and too much media coaching of today's professional athletes.

I don't find Tiger's dominance boring, but rather fascinating to watch and when somebody does step up to challenge him head to head (Bob May, Grant Waite) it gets even more interesting.
  4. King 99 from Canada writes: WGC..World Golf Championship, is an oximoron. They only play in the U.S. If they were to move to another country other than Dubai, Tiger wouldn't show. The PGA sched. is taylormade(pun) for Tiger. The only tournies he plays are Majors and WGC events. All these tournies are held at the same courses(except for U.S., British, and PGA). So any who have golfed a lot at the same course don't you think you're play is going to get better? They have to move the WGC's around, but they won't. They need to revamp the rules so every pro has to play every tourney over a 3 yr. period, but they won't. It's all about the Tiger factor. Look at wins of the top 3 of all time(including Tiger) and you'll notice something Tiger does that the others didn't. His win % is really artificially inflated because of playing the same courses. Then there's the Fed Ex Fiasco. First course in the rotation last year was Westchester. Tiger didn't play because he sucks at that course. Guess what happened this year. No more Westchester(after 40 yrs. on the loop). They moved the first Fed Ex Fiasco tourney to some cow pasture in New Jersey. You know, wide fairways and no trees. I do what Tiger does now except it's my viewing that's changed. I watch the majors, and no tournies that he's entered in. Some of the most exciting tournies that have happed this year(eg. when Els won) have been without Tiger in the field.
  5. G MACK from Toronto, Canada writes: KING 99...you have too much time on your hands pal!

All Players play the same tourneys year after year for scheduling purposes and family obligations.

The same guys play the same tourneys as Tiger, so do they not have the same advantage? That might be the worst argument I've ever read!!! It's actually laughable!

Look at his record at a time when the depth of golf skill is better than any other point in history. I've had the pleasure of seeing Tiger, Phil, the likes almost a dozen times in the last decade and if you've never been to a PGA event...the Players are pretty animated and talk a lot more then I expected.
Tiger's not my favourite, but his record of 64 wins and earnings to date is absolutely shocking!!!!!!!!!!! I'll leave it to you to check the stats of his competitors, but I think you should simply admit you don't like him because he's the best and you apparently like watching those who finish 2nd!!!

ROB C is a joke as well!
