Montgomery C. Burns from Springfield, Canada writes: As I said yesterday, Montreal was going to be the tonic that the Blues needed to snap its losing streak.

The Habs-Bruins on HNIC in Atlantic Canada on Saturday...
Now, that's hockey...
I have to cheer for Halifax native, Glen Murray, on the Bruins too, but ...

Swifty J from Mtl, Canada writes: Most of the Habs snoozed through the first two periods, the Grabo/Higgins/SKost line excepted. And Halak was revealed as a mere mortal: the second goal was brutal. (I don't blame him for the others, let alone the Habs' overall play).
Two or three more points all but guarantee a playoff berth... it would be nice to get that out of the way vs. Boston.
Glen Murray is from Halifax? It's official, I hate Halifax. ;)- Posted 19/03/08 at 12:28 AM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Alberto Bayo from Canada writes: Penalty trouble and a couple of softies on Halak. A beautiful play by the Blues led to goal three in which Halak had no chance. Crappy defensive coverage by the Canadiens at some points during the game, that's for sure.. Still...the 'Glorious Tricolore' grab a point and move into a tie with idle New Jersey for the top slot in the East with 90 points. Boston Bruins next....Sweet.....GO HABS GO

Actually, Glen Murray was only born in Halifax.
He played his hockey in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia where the Canadian Light Heavyweight Champion, Jason Naugler, is from ...
Hopefully, the Habs and Pens don't match up in the playoffs or you will also be blaming us for Crosby... ;)
Speaking about the Bruins, I was absolutely pi$$ing myself laughing at Coach's Corner last weekend when Don was struggling not to talk about all things related to Toronto...
Cherry grudgingly gave Komasarek about 6 seconds of attention on Coach's Corner... In almost a dismissive tone, he pointed out that Komasarek led the league in blocked shots and was second in hits.
Can you imagine what Cherry's tone would have been like if he could have been talking about a Leaf in those categories?
You would think that Cherry would eventually get over his inferiority complex as it relates to the Habs. I hope that Don is not going to retire from HNIC still bitter about that too many men on the ice call...- Posted 19/03/08 at 12:43 AM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Swifty J from Mtl, Canada writes: Ottawa better hope all three of its Big Three (responsible for a little less than half of the team's scoring) stay healthy. One-line teams don't generally do well in the playoffs, especially if part of that one line is not playing.
Montreal, for its part, has to rediscover how to kill penalties. That's been the team's true Achilles heel the last couple of months, and it's the one reason anyone might miss Radek Bonk. Personally, I'm a fan of an aggressive PK that produces lots of short-handed chances. I don't know if the stats back it up, but my impression is that such an approach makes opposing teams play more tentatively.- Posted 19/03/08 at 9:37 AM EDT | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Swifty J from Mtl, Canada writes: Robert, of course I blame you folks for Crosby. If the Pens beat the Habs in the playoffs, we're going to beg the U.S. to annex Nova Scotia, pronto. :)

Swifty J from Mtl, Canada writes: OK then, Robert. We'll annex Nova Scotia to Quebec so we can at least call Sid our own. I bet you'd love that. ;)
