Craazy thing: I'm actually taking a day off today, and I'm so committed to the concept that I'm not even going to post any Things. Feel free to post your own in the comments section.
Veteran Raptor fans might want to consider this whole Bosh-less slide as kind of a nostalgia tour through the bad old days. Alternatively they could be encouraged by the idea that the Raptors will finally have some meaningful games to play as the playoff picture tightens up.
Ill be back to catch up tomorrow.
In the meantime I've re-dubbed the From Deep Fantasy All-Stars the Raptors of fantasy league.
Daniel Dale weighs in with the low, low, low-down.
From Deep Fantasy All-Stars Update: Week 20
How We Did: 5 category wins, 4 category losses (79-95-6, 7th overall)
Do you believe in miracles?!
Okay, me neither. But surely you believe in Pau Gasol and Zydrunas Ilgauskas getting injured and that helping you a lot in your head-to-head fantasy basketball league.
The Positives: Good and weird: Marcus Camby as (23-assist) distributor, Kevin Durant as paragon of shooting efficiency, Johan Petro as useful guy. Good and not-weird: Ron Artest as ball-stealer, Carlos Boozer as excellent.
The Negatives: Honest to goodness, there were none.
FDFA Star of the Week: Kevin Durant (22.5 ppg, .564 fg%, .900 ft%): Interesting fact: in his first four games of the season, Durant attempted 28 threes. In his (awesome) four games this week, he attempted three.
Durant’s great scoring games are like Andrea Bargnani’s great scoring games: they’re great scoring games and little else. (This week, Durant averaged 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assits. That’s bad.) But even though they’re one-dimensional, Durant’s great games are coming pretty much every game, now, and we goodness-starved fantasy managers will accept that.
FDFA Dog of the Week: None. Nobody played worse than anybody would have expected them to.
Insane NBA Play of the Week: Jason Maxiell with the genuinely ridiculous (and Mike Tirico-approved!) all-ball.
Prediction for This Week: 9 and 0, baby.
