Now if he could only get a tough guy.
  3. Jake ---- from Canada writes: Moon is going to fetch big dollars this off season. BC get this guy signed. He is worth every dollar. He worked his way out of the minors and no matter what dollar figure is thrown at him he will never forget the tough road he took to get to this point.
  4. HC Bargs from Canada writes: What a great story. So glad to see the Moon Man getting respect by the NBA. Hopefully he'll knock them out with his spectacular hang time!
  5. Super Troll from Canada writes: Good for Moon. Him & Calderon certainly have brought excitement and entertainment to the ACC this year.
  6. Michael Enright from Toronto, Canada writes: It will be nice to see both Kapono and Moon representing the Raptors in the skills competition.
  7. J L from Thunder Bay, Canada writes: Congratulations to Mr Moon. He's having quite a year. Not bad for a guy, who a year ago was playing in the minor leauges,Fortunatly, some one in the raptor organization saw something in his play, to recommend that the Raptors bring him to training camp and the rest is history,What a pleasant surprise he has been.
  8. Yertu Damkule from Canada writes: jake - moon's signed thru next season. i'll repost this after today's recap, but i'm sitting here watching POR/TOR sunday afternoon, and i think i'm about ready to pack it in...i'm not sure i have the patience to watch the NBA anymore. it's become such a 'star'-centred league, it was one thing if it was just marketing, but it seems to extend to the officiating. if anyone can name another player the calibre of CB4 who has to put up with as many crappy calls, please, let me know. other players merely have to make it appear as though there was a whisper of contact to get a call (think wade), while this guy gets hacked game in & game out & gets ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT...AT EITHER END OF THE FLOOR. now, i hate being one of 'those' fans that complain about officiating (i reffed for 10-plus years myself, so i have some understanding of how things work on the court), but i find myself getting exasperated at the lack of respect the raps (all of 'em, not just bosh) seem to get by the officials. i'm not sure why it is...if they figure no one's watching so it doesn't matter, or they think it's insulting having to work raptor games, or going through customs is a pain, i have no idea. i realize that part of the reason is that the raps, in general, don't complain, they don't tend to exagerate physical contact, and they don't have that name-brand marquee guy who 'gets the calls.' i guess they need to throw themselves to the floor after every drive, or start complaining more...clearly, the squeaky wheel gets the grease in this league. bargnani actually played well in the few minutes he was able to get in the 1st half (despite not shooting well), but picked up 3 pretty quick fouls, two of which i'm absolutely certain were called merely because he's not a 'name' player. anyway, raps up 6 with 4 minutes left, and i can almost guarantee that POR is going to start getting calls (roy in particular), and will come back & win. hope i'm wrong. ok, rant over.
  9. Yertu Damkule from Canada writes: ok, 3:25 left, BS charge call on jose, negates a moon dunk, POR comes down & hits a 3, 84-80. hey, what's going on...jose drives & gets a call (how odd), hits both FT's. raps: 86-80. easy bucket inside by outlaw: 86-82. uh oh, jose hit's a big 3. of course, roy comes down, drives the lane, bosh breathes on him too hard, roy throws himself to the floor (amazingly, he was able to hit the shot...89-85. hey, what's going on...bosh drives, gets a call, hits both FT's: 91-85, 2 minutes left. that's more like it...ticky-tack hands call on moon. frye travels (up & down...very very very very very obvious...he was a good 3 inches off the floor), but no call...raps end up with a steal anyway, but can't convert. POR TO. frye put-back jam (bargnani must not have boxed him out...oh wait, bargs has been firmly planted on the bench for most of the 2nd half...i wonder if they're trying to keep him fresh for the post-season?). he's clearly the problem. i mean, the raps have shut down POR's interior offense without him, right? AP misses 3, another POR TO...way to slow it down to a mind-numbing pace, nate. gives me time to check on indy. 2-pt lead w/ 22 seconds left, foul on bosh. hits both. clutch. another POR TO. i know they're young, but jeez, the last 4 minutes of game-time has taken 25 actual minutes. exciting. i know it's sound strategy, but it's still boring as %^&*. moon just committed the dumbest play of the season so far, fouling outlaw on a 3 (that he made)...4 pt play ties it up. outlaw sold it well, but it was a good call. raptor TO. not that it'll matter, i'm fairly certain they'll find a way to ^&* this up...they'll try to milk it for the last shot, but they'll either turn it over or miss. hahahaha...bosh drives, gets some body, and if it said 'wade' on the back instead of 'bosh,' it's a foul. OT, here we come. i wonder if the colts/bolts will end first?
  10. Yertu Damkule from Canada writes: ok, OT. tied 99-99, moon rejects roy (WHAT?!?!? NO FOUL?!?!). once again, bosh drives against LA, and what could be a foul isn't called, POR comes down & roy puts in an easy layup. darn bargs, poor interior D. and again, bosh gets it down low, is surrounded & fouled, but no call. i'm not even surprised now. it's not like they should be called, but these are the types of calls that other elite players get, and he simply doesn't get the benefit of the doubt (of course, they would have had to call roy for a foul, so...). LA, in his second season, has 'earned' much more respect than bargs...he made more contact with bosh on that drive than bargs did cumulatively on his 3 early fouls. and again, bosh drives, gets contact, has to put up a crazy shot that somehow goes in, but it should have been an and-1. tied at 101, 23 seconds left. jose hits a big 3 (again), up 3 w/ 9 seconds left. POR TO. roy hit's a 3 from about 28 ft like it was nuttin. i feel ill. at least jose didn't foul him. of course, they should have fouled before a shot & put them to the line, but oh well. looks like 2OT. chuck/leo are talking about getting a 'good shot.' bosh actually got a good look, but pumped unneccessarily & didn't get it off in time. hey, is cbc gonna cut away to some movie, or skiing or something? i need another beer.
  11. Yertu Damkule from Canada writes: ok, 2OT. bosh it's a sweet turn-around fade-away, raps up 2. bosh hits another from the same spot. POR TO. how many TO's are they given each OT? 7? 10? great D by moon, forces an airball by outlaw. the raps run their only play (dump-in to bosh), but bosh turns it over. bosh makes up for it by swatting roy. of course, the refs screw up a call by giving on out-of-bounds...then compound that by calling bosh for a foul that CBC was kind enough to not show. and then jack hit's a big 3, 1-pt lead. bosh dunk, nice look by moon, raps up 3, 2 minutes left (no call on LA, who bit on the fake & landed on bosh's lower half, but hey, why expect a call now?). horrible help D, LA gets an easy dunk. darnit, bargnani!!! parker drives & dunks on a nice pick by bosh, and the ACC has a collective raptorgasm....raps back up 3 (i've heard this story before...). another TO. big block by moon on jack (after jack travelled). foul on jose...raps need a score, but bosh, after drawing contact, can't get it to go. i guess if they haven't been called all game, there's no need to start now. steal by jose, fouled, hit's both FT's, raps up 5, POR TO, 23 seconds left. good thing there's no possibility of a 5-pt play, or i'd be doubly worried. as it is, i'm just worried. ok, miss by webster, game over. nice game. but, uh, are they playing 'woops, there it is' as the post-game celebratory song? really? are they trying to say that the win was accidental (like, 'woops, how'd we actually win that, must've been by accident.'). bosh has stepped up the last two games...maybe now he'll start getting some respect. how many trips to the line? exactly.
  12. C Ta from Richmond Hill, Canada writes: Heh, nice job on the real-time coverage of the game, Yertu. Exciting game to have national coverage of, and hopefully it will convert those stubborn Leaf fans to a winning product in Toronto.
  13. Big Cayman from South Toronto, Canada writes: Yertu, you're already better than Chuck and Leo.
