  1. Peter Hells from Oakville, Canada writes: Go Canada
  2. Janis Miller from Canada writes: Does anyone wonder if it is necessary to have such a big pool of countries for this tournament? It might be more advantageous to have a much larger "B" pool where some of these countries can have a little more competition.
  3. Hugh Geiger from Canada writes: In response to Janis - I think it is important for the womens development teams from these great hockey countries to play against the best in the world in a tournament setting. I was at the game (with my daughter's PeeWee girls hockey team). Despite the lopsided score, there were no pylons on the Finnish team. They skated fast and played hard the whole game, but were beaten by better team play and a consistent Canadian edge in 1-1 puck battles and puck support. Once Canada got the puck they weren't prepared to give it up for a marginal scoring chance. The Canadian breakout was solid and resulted in consistent, effective penetration. Neutral zone play was great giving Canada the opportunity to create turnovers and go on the offense quickly. Once in the Finnish zone, the puck control was excellent in all areas (corners, behind the net, sideboards, blueline) which created many good scoring opportunities. And Canada had great finishing - some deft touches around the net - practically all the goals were different: a variety of shots including onetimers, deflections, scrambles, dekes and passing plays. All in all a very enjoyable contest. I'm looking forward to the semi finals and the final!
