Cricket in and baseball out.

Wally Grisold from Toronto, Canada writes: Good heavens, one match could last the entire 2 weeks of the Olympics, how many "overs" will they use, what is an over you say? Don't ask.

vijay sappani from writes: The new version of 20-20 is the edited version of a one day match. It is only 20 overs a side and the same time as a soccer game.

A C from Canada writes: Wally, every other Olympic sport only plays one game every couple of days anyway.

B I from Toronto, Canada writes: This is great news. Baseball sucks. 20-20 cricket is awesome because you have to hit every ball and as a result, it's far more action packed than baseball will ever be.
This is bad news for Cuba but finally, India can win a medal in something.- Posted 11/12/07 at 11:02 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Wilf Kruggel from Canada writes: You have got to be joking, cricket in the olympics! Watching that game is like watching paint dry. Baseball is much the same as well as alot of the north American football games. I guess they have to try it and if it does not appeal to people, then it gets turffed. Why the olympics? Wont a world tournament do? Wilf.

B I from Toronto, Canada writes: Wilf, give 20-20 cricket a shot if you can catch it. The players are constantly hitting for boundaries (or getting caught trying). Every ball matters in 20-20 whereas baseball or other forms of cricket can't say the same.
To your other comment incidentally, I've turned down Jays or Argos tickets to watch paint dry a few times. Literally.- Posted 11/12/07 at 11:28 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment

Martyn Whitt from Canada writes: Great another sport the English press and public can excited about winning only to come up a little short. Funny comment about India getting a chance to win a gold medal-although like Pakistan they do well in field hockey!!! Poor West Indies though, their cricket team won't qualify as the West Indies nations would be each have to send their respective teams (Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad etc.). At the end of the day, its the Olympics which really has turned into a cheesey spectacle. If you're a sports lover, its like a music lover having to endure 2 weeks of Celine Dion songs.
