They put athletes on pedestals, treat them like gods.. and when the athlete does whatever it takes to justify the adulation - they hang him. If we didn't have them on the cover of magazines and on television, pay them millions of dollars for selling bikes, and shoes, and whatever.. they wouldn't spend millions of dollars annually finding new and better ways of cheating. Not to excuse it, but everyone, including the public, should look in the mirror - perhaps it's time to stop treating athletes like they are doing anything more than playing a game. You want to stop steroids and blood doping.. stop watching tv sports, stop buying S.I., stop paying tickets for ball games. When athletes become the minor players in society that they should be, cheating will become pointless.
