M. Gorky from Canada writes:
The Canadians showed some promise on the wings, but once the defender was beaten they ran out of ideas and just blasted balls through the 18 yard box, squandering their chances. I don't know how long the guys have been playing together but plays seemed to develop without much support.
The Canadians had numbers in defense and seemed content to let the Argentines control the ball in the midfield. Even with midfield control Argentina was unable to mount many successful attacks, often choosing to take the shot from distance and hoping that something would come of it. The final goal was a combination of creativity and a defensive zone breakdown, but the attacking team was rewarded.
I would have liked to hear the coach's comments about the artificial turf's impact on the game. During play the ball seemed to stick and take some funny bounces.- Posted 12/05/07 at 2:47 PM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment
